Aminya’s $3million Grant

May Shaw Aminya Home is celebrating a $3 million capital grant, taking it one step closer to the redevelopment that will double its capacity and turn it into a 61-bed aged care facility. The federal government grant was officially announced on Monday by Liberal senator Eric Abetz, Bass MHR Bridget Archer, Bass MHA Sarah Courtney, and Dorset mayor Greg Howard.

With lights flashing on Main Road, the Perth Fire Station was a beacon for hungry travellers at the weekend. 

The volunteer firefighting crew was doing their part for a different cause: raising money for the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb.

A Park’s Shady Future

The Meander Valley Council is planting trees for the future. Silver birch, golden elm and lilac trees have been planted at Blackstone Heights. The trees have been planted as part of upgrades to the park. Mayor Wayne Johnston said trees were important for parks.

New Life For Old Jetty

ONE of several jetties being refurbished on the state’s East Coast has been reopened just in time for the warmer months.  The Cunningham Street Jetty at St Helens is back in action.  Both the Cunningham and Talbot street jetties were closed since December 1, 2017.  They were assessed for structural integrity and were deemed a risk to public safety.
